Writer’s Resume: Alicia Rose

Alicia Rose in October 2010 accepted an invitation to join KnowABit as a Freelance Writer. She began writing as a professional writer in 1980 and progressed to publishing articles on the Internet in 2009.  She continues to publish a diverse variety of online articles on KnowABit, Associated Content at Yahoo!, Examiner, and HubPages. March 2010, Alicia’s Science Fiction novel Just Alex was published and released to the public. She is registered as an author on AuthorNation where a sneak peak of Just Alex is available.

Writing and Research Experience:

In 1980, Alicia began her writing career as a Freelance Writer. From 1988 to 1992, while employed by Canon/Astro in Gardena, California, Alicia published monthly a poem themed toward uplifting the working person in the AstroBlast newsletter. Alicia owned a research business, Alicia’s Research, in Pahrump, Nevada 1994 to 1996. Her business was dedicated to helping others research topics and locate information about any subject. Alicia began publishing articles online June 2009. Her content covers an assortment of topics on Associated Content at Yahoo!, Examiner, HubPages and KnowABit. Alicia’s career as an author launched March 12, 2010 with the publication of Just Alex by Infinity Publishing. As an Author contributor, she has published articles writing field related on AuthorNation. At the end of 2010, Alicia created a blog domain titled Aliciaroseatwordpress. She continues to maintain this informational multi-topical domain.

Responsible for specific monthly, weekly and daily reports for Call Center, Corporate Office and other in-house destinations. Performed reception, Administrative Assistant, supply purchasing, liaison to vendors and janitorial service, and mailroom duties. As Telemarketing Service Representative, performed outbound sales lead generation for large corporations in the Health Insurance field; cold and warm calls. Was a participant in the CA Recruiting Program as a Call Assistant. Helped schedule interviews for Regional and Divisional Insurance Sales Leaders.

Large Family Practice in Medical Field, November 2004 – May 2005, Collections Clerk, Carson Medical Group, Carson City, NV: Completed collections tasks as outlined in job specifications and assisted with training the newly-hired Collection Clerks in the Collections Department of the Business Office. Answered billing questions from patients. Assisted physicians with patient discharge paperwork and mailing certified notification of dismissal to patients.

Alzheimer’s and Dementia Senior Residential Assisted Living Facility, July – September 2004, Concierge/Care Manager, Cypress Court at Reno, Reno, NV: Performed reception and general office duties, plus filled in weekly as Activities Director on this director’s days off. Helped residents with Alzheimer’s and/or Dementia participate in daily “fun” activities as well as shared in the residential care of each resident.

Non-Profit Work Services Program and Residential Assistance for the Mentally Disabled, December 2002 – March 2004, Supervisor/Lead Residential Trainer (2003 – 2004), Residential Trainer (2002 – 2003), NCI Affiliates Inc., Paso Robles, CA: As Supervisor/Lead Residential Trainer was in charge of all aspects and staff related to agency’s 24-hour living services program that provided assistance for mentally disabled adults. Was liaison between the Transitional Residential Program (TRP) clients and Tri-County Regional Center, their service coordinators. Provided 24-hour on-call assistance for all crisis situations as they occurred with TRP clients; served as hotline for TRP Residential Trainers.  As Residential Trainer, assisted the mentally disabled, as needed out in the field (at client’s home and work), who were released from developmental centers in California for reintroduction. Accomplished Data Entry tasks for the Accounting Department, as required.

Industrial Air Conditioning and Heating Company, March – October 2001, Office Assistant, Pol-Air Inc., Victorville, CA: Assisted with bookkeeping, payroll, and account receivables. Performed General Office and secretarial duties plus aided in accepting warehouse deliveries. Substituted as Manager when the owners were on vacation. Coordinated and assisted Technicians over the radio while at their jobsites (out in the field) including their travel arrangements for long distance out of town operations.

Temporary Job Placement Service, November 2000 – March 2001, Temporary General Office Worker, Victor Valley Personnel Services, Victorville, CA: Placed at Pol-Air Inc. Hired full-time by Pol-Air as Office Assistant in March 2001.
